The overall theme i believe to be for my summer photos is in fact lighting and contrast, i find it quite enjoyable to play with the light and see what shapes and distortion i can get out of my photos as i believe it can set different moods such as tranquility or more evil and dark moods. I think most of them present a calm mood as a lot are evening shots and when it is daytime, I choose lighting that is peaceful such as sunlight which I find relaxing. These photos show that my summer as a whole was very peaceful and relaxed with calming nights out. |
1.like this photo because there are a ot of contrasting colours which help the fire to 'pop'. In addition to this, the house is in the centre of the frame and is a different colour which helps it to be the focus of the image. The image is so abstract because it is in a weird setting as it causes the viewer to ask the question as to why a house is situated in the middle of a dessert. The shutter speed for this photo must be fast due to the fact that the fire (which would be moving around very fast) is not blurry at all. This means the light was captured very fast.
2.like this photo because it appears to be layered with one of them being the windows that has people sitting in them and the other layer being the people commuting on what seems to be the pavement. The fact that there are lots of people helps to keep the viewer interested in the piece for a extended period of time as each person is doing something different, causing intrigue 3.find this photo fascinating because of the simple fact that it stands out. This is because of the fact that within the collage of photos there is one larger photo made up of a few different frames which show a mans face but within these main frames there are smaller ones with different photos in them. The effect this has is still being able to see the main image but being shown more which the viewer will enjoy. The vintage feel from the grainy black and white is also effective. |
The two art exhibitions i went to were: The Photographers Gallery and The National Portrait Gallery. |
